India Sweden SITE Network
Introduction
The India–Sweden SITE Network brings together Sweden’s global leadership in clean technologies, advanced engineering, sustainable industrial systems, and circular economy solutions with India’s unparalleled scale, implementation capacity, and rapidly expanding demand across climate sectors. Sweden’s strengths in areas such as industrial decarbonisation, waste-to-value systems, smart mobility, water and wastewater treatment, and energy efficiency align closely with India’s priorities in clean energy transition, urban sustainability, resource optimisation, and hard-to-abate sector decarbonisation. India, in turn, offers a large and dynamic deployment environment where Swedish innovations can be rapidly tested, indigenised, and scaled through demand-led programmes and enabling policy frameworks. The SITE corridor establishes structured pathways for FOAK (First-of-a-Kind) deployments in India, supported by ecosystem partnerships and de-risking frameworks, with clear routes to NOAK (Nth-of-a-Kind) replication across India and the wider Global South. This creates a powerful platform for shared value creation, accelerated commercialisation, and deeper India–Sweden collaboration in driving scalable, climate-positive solutions globally.
