India Nordic Development Initiative for Climate Action (INDICA)

Updated: 5 hours ago

2nd Annual Forum: From Partnership to Deployment: Scaling Nordic Climate Solutions in India and Beyond Tuesday, 19th May 2026 Oslo, Norway Format: Roundtable & Conference (In-person)

Access: By Invitation Only

Overview

India’s climate transition is no longer constrained by ambition—it is defined by execution at scale. With multi-sectoral targets spanning energy, water, waste, mobility, agriculture and industrial decarbonisation, the opportunity is clear: translate proven solutions into deployable, bankable programmes.

The India–Nordic Development Initiative for Climate Action (INDICA) is designed as this execution bridge—bringing together technology providers, investors, institutions and policymakers to move from dialogue to deployment.

Why INDICA

Nordic countries are global leaders in climate technologies and systems innovation. India represents one of the largest climate transition markets globally.

INDICA aligns these strengths through a structured pathway that integrates:

  • Technology validation

  • Localisation for Indian conditions

  • Project development

  • Capital structuring

  • Market deployment and scale

The objective is simple: build a pipeline of bankable projects and scale them across India and the Global South.

What This Forum Delivers

  • High-level India–Nordic strategic alignment

  • Institutional capital mobilisation frameworks

  • Live deployment pipelines across key sectors

  • Announcement of 20+ partnerships and projects

  • Formation of long-term execution alliances

Key Themes

  1. India–Nordic Climate Ambition Aligning governments, institutions and industry on a shared pathway for large-scale climate action.

  2. Structuring Capital for Scale Moving from capital availability to deployable structures:

    • InvITs and listed vehicles

    • Blended finance and guarantees

    • Risk allocation (FX, policy, offtake, construction)

  3. Deployment Pipelines – Energy - Renewable energy (solar, wind, storage)

    - Green hydrogen and derivatives (eMethanol, SAF)

    - Biogas and bioenergy

    - Hydropower

    - EV infrastructure and charging networks

    - Data centres

  4. Deployment Pipelines - Environment - Water and wastewater systems

    - Waste management

    - Agriculture and soil systems

    - Nature and ecosystem restoration

    - Oceans and green maritime

    - Digital systems and AI

  5. India + Nordics + Global South

Scaling beyond India through structured replication pathways (GSTACK).

About INDICA

INDICA was soft-launched in Oslo in June 2025 and is being formally advanced through the 2026 Forum during the India–Nordic Summit. It serves as a structured platform to scale climate solutions from partnership to deployment, with replication across the Global South.
